LG K10 and K7 First impressions: A good package at a high price

LG launched two new phones - the K7 and K10 - which are priced at Rs 9,500 and Rs 13,500, respectively. The K series phones will be the first phone to be made in India as announced by Amit Gujral, communications director MC, LG India. These phones were launched in the presence of Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and LG said the plant manufacturing mobile phones LG will open soon in Noida.

They publish the event, we had the opportunity to play with both phones and here are our first impressions.

Design and construction

The K series phones are aimed at young people go to college and mid-range segment and therefore both phones have an accumulation of plastic. The K7 has a textured plastic cover while the K10 has a fabric pattern design of the rear cover, which LG says is resistant to scratches. The K7 and K10 both have chrome edges and matched with the backs of texture to provide better grip. While measures 8.6mm K7, K10 measured 8.7 mm thick.

The sides are clean and the back has the power button surrounded by volume button layout rocker that was popularized by series phones flagship LG G. The buttons are placed just below the camera modules . The bottom is the microUSB port and an audio jack 3.5mm sports. The back cover and battery are removable.

LG phones K series have a design "brilliant pebble" with glass 2.5D arc. The design is in line with what you expect from a mid-range phone. There is nothing exceptional about it.

Display

The K7 LG sports a WVGA touch screen 5 inches inside the cell that does not have any protection glass. Pixelation is clearly visible on the K7. The LG K10 is relatively better with a high definition display of 5.3 inches that is protected by Gorilla Glass 2. Our first impression of Corning's screen that looks a little washed. We'll have to use outdoors and watch movies on it to get a complete picture of the experience, however.

Chipset, RAM, connectivity

LG did not announce all internal specifications on stage, but the LG K7 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset is paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The LG K10 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. Both phones have a microSD card slot supporting cards up to 32 GB in size.

The phones come with two slots for SIM-cards nano and LTE + 4G VoLTE, VoWiFi, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and more.

OS, battery, camera

Android 5.1 with a layer of skin LG own runs on both phones. The operating system seemed smooth for the little time we used it. Bloatware so limited. The LG K7 houses a 2125mAh battery while the LG has a 2300mAh battery K10, both of which are removable.

The LG K7 comes with a front rear 5 megapixel camera of 5 megapixels and the K10 comes with a 13 MP rear and 5 megapixel front camera. The autofoto function supports gestures such as making a fist to take a autofoto and so on.

conclusion

The LG K7 is priced at Rs 9,500 and LG K10 is priced at Rs 13,500. While the overall feature set looks decent for the college crowd goes, the price points for these two phones are too high, at least on paper, for what they offer. Competition in this price range is very fierce and pending a full review, still we feel that the price can not be justified.
