Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg joined SurveyMonkey board

Facebook Inc Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg is taking a seat on the Board of SurveyMonkey, the online survey company which was directed by her late husband, Dave Goldberg.

SurveyMonkey, a private company with a value of $ 2 billion, also named David Ebersman to the board, the executive director of behavioral health company Lyra Health and former CFO of Facebook. Ebersman guided Facebook through its initial public offering in 2012.

New appoinments reflected in an update of the website of the company based in Palo Alto, on Monday.

The board is conducting a search for a new CEO to succeed Goldberg, who died in a treadmill accident while on vacation with his wife in Mexico in May. President Barack Obama led tributes to the music executive once, who had joined SurveyMonkey as its CEO in 2009.

In a statement, Sandberg said he had seen Goldberg and his team meet "its mission to help people make better decisions" and that she hoped to help "realize Dave's vision of building a sustainable society that affect how we do business for years to come. "

In an entry of Facebook last month about mourning, Sandberg wrote: "From the transition back to work has been a savior, the opportunity to feel useful and connected."

Sandberg is the second largest shareholder of SurveyMonkey after Tiger Global Management, whose partner Fixel Lee is also a member of the Board of SurveyMonkey. Other sponsors include Google Inc. and Spectrum Equity.
