Although Google has been tight-lipped about the announcement of its next mobile operating system, a lot has been said and written about Android M. With only a few days to go before Google finally announces Android M, this is what we know so now.
Name
It is very possible that Google may simply announce its next version of the Android mobile operating system as M and let the guessing game continue, like last year. The final version of Android M is reportedly scheduled for August, and could get a name only when it launched alongside the next Nexus devices in September-October. For now, internally it called Macadamia Nut Cookies or MNC. Many have taken to Twitter to express their favorite names such as mud pie, Magdalena and so on, but some reports have been betting on marshmallows.
Battery and RAM
Battery life is an area that Google has been getting flak and needs improvement. The latest report reveals that Google has asked his team to improve Android battery life and reduce RAM usage. It wants the team to reduce testing location when not needed. With these new changes, Google can solve problems like battery drain because Play services.
The fingerprint authentication
Android M may include fingerprint authentication native, currently seen in a few Android smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge Galaxy, HTC One M9 and iOS devices like the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 iPhone 6 Plus, iPad mini Air iPad 3 and 2. The new functionality will allow users to log on all supported applications on their Android devices without entering a password.
