HTC 10 promises improved camera, design and sound
HTC is promising a better camera - along with improvements in audio design and - as it unveils its latest flagship phone, the HTC 10. The camera has long been a weak point in HTC devices. Initially, HTC sacrificed image resolution and size made larger to capture more light individual pixels. But 4 megapixel resulting images were often fuzzy, especially when cropped or enlarged. HTC was with small individual pixels on a 20 megapixel camera last year, but still underperformed in extreme situations, such as indoors and close-ups.
HTC 10 attempts to strike a balance - Large individual pixels, but not as big as before. The camera is now 12 megapixels, as well as the latest mobile iPhone and Samsung Galaxy. "What we try to do ... is to get the best of both worlds," said Nigel Newby-House, associate vice president for planning HTC products in North America. In HTC One M9 last year, "image performance was not until the type of specification of what we really like to see a star."
HTC's flagship phones have developed good reviews in the past, but has struggled to practice those sales. The company does not currently ranks as one of the top five phone manufacturers worldwide, according to research firm Gartner. In recent months, HTC has branched fitness equipment and virtual reality. But it will not give up the phone.
Announced Tuesday, it is expected to in October HTC phone to be available in late April. The company did not disclose prices immediately.
Other notable features in the HTC 10 include a powerful battery - promised in two days - and the ability to customize the home screen to application icons not all have to stay in a grid. There will be stickers of different sizes to move and create a custom design.
HTC is giving a slight boost to the autofoto camera - 5 megapixel, matching Apple and Samsung phones. Also joining their rivals on the screen letting serve as a flash front. A good design and metal-now you have sharper edges. The roundest finish the previous model makes the phone feel more like a bar of soap, with everything you would expect slippery, Newby-House said.
For music lovers, the phone can now handle audio files of higher quality, and the two external speakers are set so that one focuses on high-end notes, while the second focuses on.
