Jio to offer 40-80 times better speed mobile broadband in India, he says FICCI FRAMES Mukesh Ambani in






Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries took the stage at FICCI FRAMES 2016 and talked about the future of digital media and services Reliance Jio.

Addressing the audience, Mukesh Ambani said the media industry in India has grown by 9 times in the last 12 years. He says, it is expected that the total value hitting $ 100 billion over 10 years. Jio will call the "biggest launch of the world", he said the investment of Rs 1,50,000 crore in service is because he sees digitization as the "defining trend of the century."


Adding "the best is yet to come for the media industry in India," Ambani said Jio would significantly the quantity and quality of mobile broadband coverage by 80-100 times. Jio is expected to provide coverage to 90 percent of Indians and also speeds that are 40-80 times higher than the current average.

In terms of the potential of digital media content and broadband access, Ambani said that a network of affordable video would change the way we learn.

"It will revolutionize education in India. We are moving from audio to video," he said. Adding that the world is graduating into a world of tele-media and that we are now part of a front tele-media.

He ended with a statement indicating that the dependence Jio will make every effort to support and promote the initiative of the digital India because it is bringing people together and join the movement of digital India.

Also at the event was Uday Shankar, CEO of StarTV, who spoke about how to tell stories, along with the technology change the world.

Referring to Jio, said Uday Shankar, "I have never seen such anticipation for a product even before its release." He continued that there was a tectonic shift happening in the industry, that change was happening faster than expected.

"We are facing a truly global world that has no patience," he added.

FICCI is the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. It is a non-governmental organization, nonprofit that works with closely with the government on policy issues related to Indian companies and industry.

FICCI FRAMES is the biggest event of its kind in Asia and is claimed to be the most important conclave in the entertainment business.

FICCI FRAMES 2016 is running March 30 to April 1 at the Renaissance in Powai, Mumbai Centre.
