Google : There were 21 Percent of Tech Hires Was Women in 2014

Google said 21 percent of employees in technology last year were women, bringing the total number of women in technical positions at 1 percent, as part of efforts to increase diversity.

Recently, the company began to disclose the composition of its workforce after admitting he was "wrong, and it's time to be honest about the problems."

The technology industry has always been plagued not only by allegations of a gender gap, but also by a widespread lack of inclusiveness that also affects minorities. Google said Monday that increased black and Hispanic employees exceeded the overall growth of hiring company, but made up only 2 percent and 3 percent of the total workforce, respectively.

"Although we still have a long way to go, we are seeing some early progress," the company said in a post Google Plus. At December 31, Google had 53,600 full-time employees.
