Apple said it is recalling some wireless speakers Beats XL portable pill because of a fire hazard caused by overheating batteries.
The iPhone maker will recall about 222,000 speakers in the United States and about 11,000 in Canada, the Safety Commission Consumer Product (CPSC) said on Wednesday. Apple has received eight reports of overheating speakers, the CPSC said in a statement.
The company did not disclose the number of users affected by the withdrawal or the number of complaints received, but said the recall does not affect strokes or other Apple products.
Apple said it will issue store credit or a refund is worth $ 325 in about three weeks after receiving the defective speakers, introduced Stroke in November 2013.
Apple Beats agreed to buy for about $ 3 billion in May 2014 in an effort to launch an unequal to advance music streaming as iTunes sales were declining attempt. This is not the first time Apple has had to recall products.
